History

The Miralago lodge was built in the early 1960s by one of the pioneers of the San Pellegrino Pass, Bepi Pellegrin Zac, a renowned Alpine guide who felt blissfully at home on the mountain.
Bepi Zac fell in love with the area, and he and his wife Maria decided to build their refuge on the shore of this small lake. Working long and hard for many testing years, Bepi built his refuge and gradually the first guests began to arrive. They were mostly from Germany and Bepi guided them around the mountains and opened their eyes to these magical places.

Heavy snows fell throughout those long winters and, despite the difficult of travelling along snowed filled roads to procure much needed provisions, the tenacity and obstinacy of the couple carried them along and the activity continued.

Bepi passed away at just 46 years old and, since then, the activity has been carried on thanks to the commitment and dedication of Maria and their eldest son Ivano. Ivano and his wife Carmen, and their eldest son Pietro run the lodge and always have a heartfelt, professional welcome awaiting their guests.
